CWSA Increase Water Rates in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Come February 2012 Vincentians will begin to pay $5.00 EC more for water and solid waste management services. In a press conference earlier this week Garth Saunders(CEO) said that 75% of consumers will see an increase of EC$10 or less for water supply and sewerage services.
Mr Saunders said that 75% of the CWSA consumers will see an increase in their bills of between EC$5 and EC$10 per month. The basic charges has increased from $12.00 EC to $14.00.
Business places will seen an increases from $15.00 EC to $25.00 EC
According Garth, these basic charges is to ensure that the CWSA has a sufficient fixed income to be able to carry out their basic services.
There is also an increase in the Domestic and Commercial Sewerage rates and Garbage disposal services
On mainland St. Vincent, the environmental fee will be $11.00 EC up from $8.00.
In the Grenadines, the garbage is collected twice a week and their domestic environmental fee will be $10.00 EC, the previous rate was $5.00 EC.

My Take
So after listening to Mr Saunders detailed reasons for the increase of the CWSA rates, I must say that the increase is not at all burdensome, it is not outrageous, or unreasonable. I believe that if persons analize the figures, they would realize that the increase is barely minimal. Persons may just have to prioritize. It will take some behavioral adjustments, for example, taking shorter baths, I mean why would you have the water from the shower head running continously when you are soaping up your rash rag, how about ,using buckets to wash down vehicles, fixing leaks ASAP and turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
On the other hand this increase will cause consumers to be more conservative when using their water.

ULP WEBSITE UNDER ATTACK…Wednesday 8th Dec 2010
Today, the ULP website was brought down by a highly sophisticated and illegal distributed denial of service attack known as a SYN flood.
This is not an unsophisticated single point denial of service attack. Instead, the skilled hacker that is perpetuating the attack, targeted the domain http://www.voteulp.com/ and used what is called a ‘botnet’ which calls on hundreds of thousands of virus compromised computers around the world to flood the ULP website with requests, thereby bringing it down.
ULP technology experts believe that it is highly likely that, given the sophistication of the attack, it is being perpetuated by a highly paid hacker. Given the timing of the illegal attack, one can only conclude that it is politically motivated.
The ULP calls upon the NDP join in condemnation of the attack and also calls on the NDP to answer whether or not it is funding an illegal operation like this

Elections in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

SVG Elections
SVG Elections- Elections are due in Saint Vincent and the Grenadine at anytime soon, but it must be called by March 2011. There are three parties here in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the ruling party in power is the Unity Labour Party(ULP), the opposition party is the New Democratic Party(NDP) and the least of them all in the Green party.
Now when will elections be held in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines?..No one knows! The only person who knows the date of elections is the prime minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.
So I have a question. I want my readers to guess when will be the month the elections in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Plane Crash in SVG
Plane Crash in SVG

SVG Air
It is 10:20 pm local time here in St.Vincent and the Grenadines, and there is some sad news, it is reported that about 6 PM today, a chartered SVG Air Cessna 402 plane belonging to SVG Air crashed on its way to the Grenadine Island of Canouan from ET Joshua Airport. The plane, on its way to transport a patient from Canouan to St.Vincent, was reported to have crashed about 7 miles off Canouan. It is also very sad to report that the person who was in need of medical attention past away while waiting for the arrival of the plane.
The lone person on the plane was the pilot. He is still missing.
