if the President, acting in accordance with the
advice of the Prime Minister, so directs;
if the Prime Minister resigns from office
within three days after a resolution of no
confidence in the Government has been passed
by the Assembly or he otherwise resigns
from office under subsection (5) of this
section or he is removed from office under
subsection (1) or (2) of this section; or the
office of Prime Minister becomes vacant
under paragraph (a) (b) or (d) of subsection
(3) of this section; or
on the appointment of any person to the
office of Prime Minister.
(c)
(5) The Prime Minister or any other Minister may at
any time resign from office by writing under his hand in that behalf
addressed to the President. The resignation shall take effect, and
the office shall accordingly become vacant, when the writing is
received by the President.
(6) In the exercise of the powers conferred upon him by
subsections (1) and (2) of this section the President shall act in his
own deliberate judgment.
119. (1) There shall be the office of Secretary to the Cabinet,
which shall be a public office.
(2) The Secretary to the Cabinet, who shall have charge of
the Cabinet Office shall be responsible, in accordance with such
instructions as may be given to him by the Prime Minister, for arranging
the business and keeping the minutes of the Cabinet; and for conveying
the decisions of the Cabinet to the appropriate person or authority, and
shall have such other functions as the Prime Minister may direct.
