of subsection (2) of section 91 of this Constitution shall apply to
such motion for the removal of the Speaker as they apply to a
motion of no confidence in the Government.
(9) If at any time the Speaker or the Deputy Speaker
acts as President, the proviso to subsection (2) of section 59 of this
Constitution shall apply.

72. (1) (a) There shall be an office of Deputy Speaker of
the National Assembly. The Deputy Speaker shall preside over the
proceedings of the Assembly in the absence of the Speaker.
(b)
When the Assembly first meets after any
general election and before it proceeds to the
dispatch of any other business except the
election of the Speaker, the Assembly shall
elect a Representative or a Senator who is
not a Minister or a Parliamentary Secretary,
to be the Deputy Speaker; and if the office
of Deputy Speaker falls vacant at any time
before the next dissolution of Parliament the
Assembly shall, as soon as convenient, elect
another Representative or Senator to that
office.
