(b) to modifying it, whether by omitting or amending any of
its provisions or inserting additional provisions in it or
otherwise; and
(c) to suspending its operation for any period or terminating
any such suspension.
(7)
In this Constitution-
(a) the masculine includes the feminine, and vice
versa;
(b)
the singular includes the plural, and vice versa.
(8)
In this Constitution, functions includes powers and duties.
(9) Where this Constitution provides for anything to be done by a
political party, that thing shall be deemed to have been validly done if it
is done by the person who for the time being is the leader of that party, or
by some other person duly authorised in writing in that behalf by the
leader of the party.
(10) In this Constitution-
(a) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) means the
regional grouping of countries which are signatory
member states of the Treaty of Chaguaramas 1973
Revised in 2001 and the countries which are associated
member states thereunder;
(b) The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States
(OECS) means the sub-regional grouping of
countries which are signatory member states of the
